Energy Economics Workshop Co-Hosted by the Davis Energy Economics Program (DEEP)

The Davis Energy Economics Program (DEEP), housed at the Institute and co-directed by David Rapson and James Bushnell, hosted a energy economics workshop held at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia in February 2025.

The workshop included a DEEP led industry session that focused on what has been learned about the effectiveness and appeal of electric vehicle (EV) managed charging. This session attracted local utility executives and grid operators. They shared preliminary results from an in-progress EV trial. They have previously conducted extensive research on the economics of utility tariff design and electric vehicles, providing insights into both market and regulatory barrier to large-scale EV adoption and the policy priorities in this space.

The goal of the workshop was to bring together energy economics researchers to help propel each other's research ideas and foster potential collaborations.
