Institute of the Environment is unique among campus research entities: it is a premier university-wide institute dedicated to applied environmental, health and climate research. Our centers, including— the Center for Watershed Sciences, Center for Health and the Environment, and the UC Davis Natural Reserve System—are leaders in their fields, delivering real-world impact across California and beyond.

Shaping the Next Generation of Leaders

The UC Davis Institute of the Environment supports graduate education through interdisciplinary degree programs, field research, and specialized courses and seminars. Graduate students engage in applied environmental and climate research through programs like the Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management, the Environmental Scholars initiative, and opportunities offered by the Natural Reserve System, Center for Watershed Sciences, Center for Health and the Environment, and the Davis Energy Economics Program.
