NRS McLaughlin Reserve Holds Wildflowers and Weeds Walk
In the morning of May 9th, at the UC Davis Natural Reserve System's McLaughlin Natural Reserve, attendees learned how invasive plants, especially annual grasses, have reduced native wildflower displays in California, and viewed the reserve areas where wildflowers were restored by removing these invasive species.
The roles of prescribed fire, cattle grazing, herbicides, mowing, and hand-pulling to control weeds and restore wildflowers were discussed.
